Placing a Trade

A complete walkthrough of the Raven interface and how to open a position.
Interface Layout
| Panel | Contents |
|---|---|
| Left Column | Asset selector (CC), market stats (total locked, 24H volume), protocol trust indicators (Canton Network, Chainlink Oracle, Audit status) |
| Center Column | Cadence toggle, expiry selector, contract status badge, live options chain table |
| Right Column | Order ticket — contract details, CALL/PUT selector, CC stake input, payout breakdown, execute button |
| Bottom Panel | Open positions, trade history tabs |
Step 1 — Choose Your Cadence
Use the Daily / Weekly toggle to select your contract duration. Daily contracts settle at 12:00 GMT. Weekly contracts settle at 12:00 GMT on Fridays. The interface shows which cadence is active with a color indicator (blue for Daily, amber for Weekly).
Step 2 — Select an Expiry Date
The expiry selector shows three periods: previous (settled), current (active), and next (upcoming). Click the current active period to trade it. Clicking the settled period shows the historical result in read-only mode.
Step 3 — Read the Options Chain
| Chain Column | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| CALL odds + volume | Implied probability and open CALL volume at this strike |
| Buy CALL button | Click to populate the order ticket for a CALL at this strike |
| Strike | The price level, ATM label, and spread info |
| Buy PUT button | Click to populate the order ticket for a PUT at this strike |
| PUT odds + volume | Implied probability and open PUT volume at this strike |
Step 4 — Fill the Order Ticket
- After clicking a Buy CALL or Buy PUT button, the right-side ticket populates with the contract details.
- Confirm your direction with the CALL / PUT selector at the top of the ticket.
- Enter your CC stake. Use the quick-select percentage buttons (25%, 50%, 75%, 100% of wallet balance) for convenience.
- The Payout Breakdown shows: your stake, current odds, and exact max payout in CC — all before you commit.
- The visual loss/win bar gives an at-a-glance summary of the risk/reward.
Step 5 — Confirm the Trade
Click Buy Call or Buy Put. A 3-second countdown starts — you can cancel within this window. After the countdown, the transaction is submitted to Canton. A receipt appears with your contract ID, direction, stake, payout odds, and Canton transaction hash.
Your Open Positions
Active positions are shown in the Open & Pending tab of the bottom panel:
